Motivation to Speak
Are you excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference, and what motivated you to join our community of 150,000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?
Yes, I’m genuinely excited. Being part of the Women in Tech Global Conference is both meaningful and timely for me. Over the years, I’ve spoken at several industry forums—AI summits, DEI platforms, and roundtables but this community stands out for the scale of its reach and the shared commitment to representation.
The motivation was simple: I wanted to contribute to a space where women in tech, especially those navigating leadership and life transitions, could learn from real experiences. I’ve led large-scale AI-driven transformations and also founded The ProjeKT40, a platform for women over 40 sharing their stories and enriching the experiences for peers and women under 40. Being part of this global community feels like a natural extension of that purpose.
Background and Inspiration
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?
I started my career in 2000 as a software engineer and have grown through various roles in technology leadership over the past 24 years. My experience spans companies like Momentum, Genpact, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, and most recently, ServiceNow, where I served as a Senior Director leading the Digital Technology Experience function in India.
At ServiceNow, I led a team of over 450 professionals and was responsible for delivering AI-led digital employee experiences across Finance, Legal, and HR domains. I also drove the GenAI roadmap for tools like Zoom AI and Copilot, and led multiple transformation programs that delivered measurable impact.
What inspired my direction was the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, people, and business outcomes—especially in building systems that enhance user experience and productivity while embedding AI responsibly.
Why is the topic “From Setbacks to Success: Transforming Life Events into Leadership Opportunities” important to you?
This topic is directly connected to the research I’m pursuing as part of my doctoral program at the Indian School of Business (ISB). My dissertation focuses on how life events impact the career success of women leaders, and how individuals, organizations, and society can mitigate those effects.
Through this journey, and via The ProjeKT40—a platform I founded to support women navigating mid-career transitions—I’ve had the chance to engage with many women who’ve experienced disruptions in their careers. The topic is important because it reflects a reality we often overlook: life events don’t pause for leadership roles, and yet they can become pivotal in shaping them.
Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?
I would recommend this conference to:
Women in tech who are navigating career growth, leadership, or transitions.
Mid-career professionals who are dealing with life changes that impact their work.
Leaders and allies who want to better understand the systemic challenges faced by women and minorities in tech
The conference brings together practical insights, lived experiences, and a global network—all of which can be valuable for anyone committed to driving inclusive progress in the tech industry.
