Motivation to Speak
Are you excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference and what motivated you to join our community of 150 000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?
Absolutely, I am thrilled to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference and connect with such an important community given my passion for diversity and inclusion in technology.
Research has consistently shown that companies with women in leadership positions tend to outperform their counterparts. For instance, a study by McKinsey & Company found that companies in the top quartile for gender diversity on executive teams were 21% more likely to experience above-average profitability than those in the bottom quartile. Additionally, a report by Catalyst revealed that companies with the highest representation of women on their boards of directors had a 53% higher return on equity than those with the lowest representation. These statistics underscore the significant impact that diversity and inclusion can have on a company's success.
I believe that by sharing our unique experiences and insights, we can inspire and empower each other to break barriers and achieve remarkable success in the tech industry.

Throughout my career in marketing, I have constantly chosen to align myself with brands that are at the forefront of technological innovation across various industries. From IBM to Nokia, Bloomberg, Technicolor, Corelogic and now Xperi, I have had the privilege of working with companies whose technologies are not just advancements for the sake of technology but are transformative forces that fundamentally change the way people work and live their lives.
My passion for technology is driven by the profound impact it has on society. Each company I have been part of has demonstrated a commitment to leveraging technology to create meaningful and lasting improvements in everyday life. Whether it’s through enhancing communication, improving data accessibility, or revolutionizing entertainment, these brands have shown that technology can be a powerful catalyst for positive change.
From a marketing standpoint, working for tech companies has provided me with such a compelling platform to promote the solutions these companies provide. The innovative technologies and their real-world applications offer endless opportunities to craft engaging narratives and showcase the tangible benefits to consumers and businesses alike.
Why is the topic “Take Control of Your Career” important to you?
Taking control of your career is crucial for women, especially in a male-dominated technology industry, for several reasons.
Firstly, it empowers women to overcome barriers and biases that may exist in the workplace. By actively managing their careers, women can set clear goals, seek out opportunities for growth, and advocate for themselves. This proactive approach helps in breaking through the glass ceiling and achieving leadership positions.
Secondly, it helps in building a strong professional network. Engaging in mentorship and sponsorship programs, as highlighted in the Women in Tech Network, provides guidance, skill development, and advocacy. These relationships are essential for career progression and creating a more inclusive culture.
Additionally, taking control of one's career allows women to challenge imposter syndrome, a common issue in male-dominated fields. By recognizing their worth and capabilities, women can confidently pursue their ambitions and contribute meaningfully to their organizations.
As stated above, companies with women in leadership positions tend to outperform their counterparts. Research has shown that gender diversity in executive teams leads to higher profitability and better decision-making. This underscores the importance of women taking charge of their careers to drive both personal and organizational success.
Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?
Honestly, any woman that has passion for technology across all roles and is looking for opportunities to network to learn how to navigate this exciting industry and build their knowledge and confidence.
