Job Summary
The Virtualization Provisioning and Protection team is an integral part of the NetApp ONTAP Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineering, located in Bangalore. This pioneering team is focused on developing an on-premises enterprise virtualization provisioning product. Our goal is to build a highly scalable architecture that caters to the needs of large enterprise customers, supporting both on-premises and cloud environments. We aim to provide end-to-end lifecycle management for virtual machines in VMware environments using NetApp storage systems. About the Role:
As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging various components and workflows of our product. The Research and Development function emphasizes competitive market analysis, customer requirements, technological advancements, product quality, cost-effectiveness, and time-to-market. You will have the opportunity to enhance existing products and contribute to new product development.
Job Requirements
We are looking for a Software Engineer with the following qualifications:
- Proficient in Java and Python, with knowledge of Golang considered a plus.
- Strong understanding of Docker containers, REST APIs, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with VMware Virtualization is desirable.
- Experience in software design, development, and test automation required.
- Aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Familiarity with computer architecture, data structures, and standard programming practices.
- Adherence to software engineering quality development practices.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment to meet ambitious goals and deliver high-quality results.
- Willingness to take on additional tasks and responsibilities that contribute to team, department, and company objectives.
Education & Experience
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience is required.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience is also desirable.
