One of my earliest workplace memories was when I was at Apple. There was an organization called Women at Apple and its core objective was to bring in women in leadership speakers at Apple. It was so inspiring to hear from these women, about their careers, about their challenges, about how they got to where they were. I ended up joining the Women at Apple committee and running its speaker program. I loved finding the women speakers, going to talk to them to see if they would be interested in speaking at one of our upcoming events and then hearing them speak to a room full of women (and men)...it was so popular we even got a few men each month.
