Affordable and clean energy solutions (Goal 7 of UN Sustainable Development Goals) and gender equality (Goal 5) are extremely interconnected in technology life cycle assessment, and tech world and energy companies cannot afford to discard this in order to be ready - and better - for tomorrow challenges.

Bio
Valeria graduated in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Pisa (Italy) in 2012. She joined GE Oil & Gas as part of Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) in 2013, after an international experience in Germany at Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy.She covered several roles in Engineering, working on aerodynamics, mechanical design and auxiliary systems for radial expanders. She has then widen her products experience, starting working on gas turbines operability, being responsible for feasibility studies during offer phase to Customers. She has become an expert on fuel flexibility, performance and emissions, focusing on Energy Transition related scenarios such hydrogen, biogas, syngas, emissions abatement and carbon footprint reduction.
She now covers the role of Gas Turbine Technology Leader in Industrial & Energy Technology – Turbine organization, where she is in charge of defining new areas for turbines technology research and sustainable development, and she manages also the relationships with University and Research Centers to expand opportunities for collaborations.
On top of that, she is also part of Baker Hughes Women's Network Employee Resource Group, leading Florence hub of Women in Engineering, whose mission is the Empowerment of Women, by creating opportunities for discussion, providing tools, resources and enabling contacts to improve knowledge in an inclusive environment. This year's theme for Women in Engineering activities and seminars is Sustainability.
