Motivation to Speak
Are you excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference, and what motivated you to join our community of 150,000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?
I'm thrilled and honored to be part of this community and share more about my experience around The Power of People First approach. I hope this helps others in their own journey.
Background and Inspiration
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?
I hold a Computer Science degree, and I joined Coca-Cola straight out of university 26 years ago. All my professional career has been developed here and I can tell has been an exciting time. I had the opportunity to play in a very broad landscape of areas and learn about the majority of our functions providing me a good understanding of our business but also allowing me to develop and nurture a very diverse set of capabilities. My journey here can be divided into three main stages. The first ten years were in traditional technology services focused on servers, computer centers and infrastructure. The next 10 years was working in the area of digital marketing, e-commerce and development centers where I was one of the pioneers in Latin America and the last six years, I have held multiple executive roles between LATAM and now Europe including data. Information Technology was not my preferred option but when I decided to go for it, was basically because was a new career where everything was evolving and changing and that for me represented a good challenge and also a continuous learning. And after 30 years, seems was not wrong, Technology keeps evolving and providing new opportunities to reinvent ourselves and also our organizations.
Why is the topic “Driving Digital Transformation: The Power of People-First Leadership” important to you?
The rapid advancement of technology has fundamentally altered traditional business practices and reshaping our roles and this requires a different approach for us to be successful in guiding our People through this massive transition, helping them acquire new skills and adapt their roles evolving responsibilities and become a true change agent.
Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?
I would encourage anyone that is interested in expanding its career, nurture its potential and expand its network, this is the place to go, even if this is the first time joining, a good place to start, to look ahead and outside your day to day and capture new ideas, practices and experiences that may help people to go faster or at least not start from scratch.
