    Sandrine Pons at SNP

    Motivation to Speak

Are you excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference and what motivated you to join our community of 150 000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?

Yes! I'm really excited to be speaking at this year's conference. I have so much experience and I'm passionate about sharing that with others. If my experience can help one person in that room to approach a challenge differently, or have the confidence to question the status quo that they're facing in the workplace, it will be worthwhile.

    Background and Inspiration

Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?

My career spans thirty years in total, 18 of which have been in the tech sector, first for SAP and now with SNP. I'm inspired by the way the sector continually innovates, continually looks at how tech can improve the customer experience and, along the way, I've realised that it's only by having a diverse team, bringing different viewpoints from different backgrounds and areas of experience, that you can truly meet the needs of your customers. Creating a diverse team is like crafting a human mirror that reflects the variety of our customer base. Each team member adds a unique shade, perspective, and experience, enhancing our understanding of the needs of our target audience, whomever that might be.

Why is the topic “Leading Cultural Transformation – A 30-Year Journey of Overcoming Challenges” important to you?

I feel a responsibility to share my learnings with others; either with those coming into the industry for the first time, or those who are perhaps facing the kinds of challenges I have faced - and overcome. I've learned a lot over my 30 years in tech and it has continually inspired, excited and delighted me. It's also frustrated me and challenged me but by finding ways to push back and to take a fresh approach, I've overcome those challenges.

Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?

Anyone who is new to the sector but also anyone who has been in the sector for a while. We all need to hear about a fresh perspective on something or to know that our ideas, our thoughts, our feelings, do not exist in isolation; sharing an experience with others can lead to people feeling supported and seen and give them the confidence they needed to push ahead in a particular direction. Most of all, it will be a fun session - I'm excited for it!
