The conversation in a recent event that I hosted and had a Data Scientist, Aniekan Inyang as a speaker underscored the ongoing need for continuous education, awareness, and encouragement for women to pursue careers in STEM fields. She found Data Science as the perfect intersection of her passions: technology, business and research. One of the key takeaways was the significance of representation, as she navigated being 1 of only 5 women in her class and the limited visibility of women in STEM fields. She also informed of the need to emphasize knowledge and awareness to foster a supportive environment and challenge societal norms limiting women.
