I attended and all-girls secondary school then went on to study a STEM degree at university before entering a career in technology. The transition from being in a majority female environment to a majority male environment has given me a unique perspective in gender dynamics from experiencing it at both extremes. It has also allowed to me acknowledge how beneficial a gender balance can be to diversify viewpoints and boost creativity in a team. Technology serves both genders equally so the people behind the technology need to be diverse to ensure everyone's requirements are met. |
