Session: To retain women in STEM, organizations need to improve their culture

Women navigating a traditionally male-dominated technical sector too frequently feel invisible, frustrated, and undervalued in the workplace. This talk shines a light on common situations and behaviours that are a reality that many STEM women continue to face in their daily working lives. Recognising and acknowledging organisational behaviours opens the door for leaders to take action and embed sustainable change through valuing the skills of STEM women, including and empowering them resulting in positive impacts to the business.

Get the tools to take control and drive real change without alienating any of the workforce!

Key Takeaways

  • Inclusion relies on teams adopting a culture of authentic humility
  • Advocacy of STEM women by senior leaders is critical for their inclusion and success
  • STEM women are too often valued for their “office housework” skills and not recognised for their technical skills
  • Queen Bees can hinder inclusion of the next generation of STEM Women
