The Position

We are building Boehringer Ingelheim’s Enterprise Development Platform (EDP) to facilitate the development, delivery, and operations of digital products and use-cases by ensuring fast time-to-market, compliance at the same time, all provided through great user experience. As part of the EDP support and onboarding team, you play a key role in ensuring our users get started to work on top of our platform and have a smooth experience along their software delivery life cycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper onboarding into our CI/CD Platform, you explain EDP functionalities and advice new development teams on how to operate them.
  • Resolve user incidents/problems related to our CI/CD Platform and help unblock their software delivery process when needed.
  • Partner with other IT functions (Networking, Data Center services,…) in order to unblock EDP related issues impacting our development teams.
  • In close collaboration with your EDP system leads, you contribute to the stability and performance of our development platform, EDP.
  • Evangelize users on software development best practices in EDP.
  • Connect with the EDP Development team to share customer feedback, which helps improve user experience and our platform’s technology backbone, solve difficult bugs or propose workarounds.
  • Contribute to maintain the System Life Documentation of our CI/CD Platform up to date.
  • Contribute to content-creation and presentation activities to support customer awareness, understanding, and excitement around our product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience operating in CI/CD Platforms.
  • Knowledge about orchestrators (ideally Jenkins and Tekton), artifact repositories (ideally Nexus), source code review engines (ideally SonarQube), containerization software (ideally RedHat OpenShift or Kubernetes) and the Atlassian stack (BitBucket, Jira, Confluence and Crowd) are a must, since these are the basic components of our Enterprise Development Platform (EDP).
  • Since EDP is based on the open-source project OpenDevStack on GitHub, experience as a software engineer, especially in making open-source contributions will be appreciated.
  • Experience operating systems in regulated environments, especially Pharma industry good practices (GxP) is a plus.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Willingness and readiness to travel occasionally.
  • Ability to work effectively within an international and intercultural environment.
