Responsible for programming key components and features within a high-impact medical imaging platform. You will work independently, contributing to your immediate team and collaborating across functions to deliver robust, scalable software solutions.

We are looking for candidates who can be physically present at our location in Helsingborg, Sweden.

In this role, you’ll actively participate in design discussions, apply strong Python and statistical expertise, and help shape advanced imaging technologies that support critical healthcare diagnostics.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement core components of a medical imaging platform, including image processing pipelines, data ingestion modules, and visualization tools.

  • Development of AI-powered features, such as image segmentation, anomaly detection, and classification using deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

  • Optimize performance and scalability of imaging algorithms for large-scale deployment in hospital and research environments.

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated testing, integration, and secure deployment of imaging applications.

  • Apply rigorous software engineering practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation, to ensure reliability and maintainability.

  • Integrate statistical models and data analysis techniques into imaging workflows to support clinical decision-making and research insights.

  • Coach and mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions, technology evaluations, and roadmap planning for imaging software products.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

  • 6 years of professional software development experience with history of technical innovation

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and containerization (Docker)

  • Solid understanding of Linux environments and shell scripting

  • Strong proficiency in Python and software engineering principles

  • Demonstrated experience applying statistical methods to real-world problems, ideally in healthcare or imaging.

  • Fluent in English, speaking and writing.

  • Must be physically present at our location in Helsingborg

Desired Characteristics:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, or a related field

  • Experience with Unix / Linux based systems

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, MDR) for medical software

  • Hands-on experience with AI and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)

  • Ability to implement and optimize ML models for image classification, segmentation, or enhancement

  • Experience in medical imaging, particularly in MRI and/or radiotherapy domains

  • Research experience and/or clinical experience

  • Fluent in Swedish, speaking and writing.
