JOB DESCRIPTION

Global Lifecycle Manager (GLM) is accountable for customer support global services supply chain (CS SSC) worldwide operations and master data systems product service material lifecycle readiness. Primary CS SSC lifecycle management strategy and operational execution focal across the product business units (GBU), customer support organizations, and CS worldwide services material supply chain operations.  Leads as the CS SSC strategy and capability expert for specific product lines across the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. This position requires the ability to apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and frequently contributes to the development of new ideas, methods, and establishment of policies. Will be called on to lead and/or provide expertise to project teams and will participate in cross-organizational and functional initiatives. This role requires significant independent judgment to accomplish the work and achieving objectives. In many cases will provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.

 

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Provide global leadership as services supply chain capabilities subject matter expert; align on customer centric cost-effective strategies & solutions with product business units, CS SSC supplier management, and repair engineers to assure service material supply from new product introduction through end of support life.
  • Manage a variety of product portfolios; collaborating & driving innovative worldwide strategies & actions necessary to ensure that the material supply chain portion of the end-to-end services delivery solution is timely and capable of providing industry leading customer experience with balanced cost & inventory performance.
  • Assess lifecycle processes and innovate with the use of corporate provided toolsets to automate, remove waste, improve process quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Strong ability to data mine, generate queries, extract raw data, and perform comparative scenarios, predictive analytics, and cost/benefit analysis then translate complex analysis into a clear and concise package that allows for data backed strategic decision making.
  • Lead as ww focal for strategic and operational product support & material level decisions, collaboration, and influence for end-to-end material lifecycle events with business (GBU), product manufacturing, and ww services supply chain functions.
  • Global leadership managing cross functional/organizational teams of global and regional operations and logistics professionals to develop and implement service & material strategies for each new product to enable HP to cost-effectively provide service material to its customer base throughout the product’s lifecycle with global effectiveness.
  • Contribute to definition and execute product lifecycle management POR.
  • Translate management directives and objectives into viable programs and ensure that there is a solid connection between business and organizational goals, activities, and metrics.
  • Manage as global service material supply chain new product introduction owner; influence for serviceability new product design, define product service material bill of materials, define & drive ww service material stocking strategies, define & manage operational execution deliverables & timelines for ww services supply chain readiness.
  • Coordinate development & verification activities for lifecycle support plans via deliverables, schedules, logistics, engineering, documentation, & reporting.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate activities, issues, risks, and milestones, associated with each lifecycle plan to cross organizational and functional stakeholders.
  • Ultimately responsible for the readiness of product introductions, sustaining, part roll, quality issues, end of life, and customer satisfaction issues
  • Accountable for CS SSC material master data governance to ensure quality

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
  • Typically, 6-10 years of experience in a supply chain function.
  • Must have strong people skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and executive level presentations skills: mastery in English and local language
  • Proven ability to lead worldwide teams in a high-paced, complex, virtual environment
  • Flexibility to meet the Global requirements including working with all time zones worldwide
  • Project management training and proven skills
  • Innovative independent thinker with problem solving skills and acute observation skills for applying analytics to real life applications.
  • Can use databases for data collection and manipulation strongly desired.
  • Expert level skillset with Microsoft suite of applications including MS Access and Excel.
  • Preferred, knowledge of MS Office 365 collaborative/productivity applications including sharepoint designer.
  • Understanding of statistics and model generation.
  • Present in front of a large group and ability to create professional slide presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work of self and others
  • Self-starter and independent thinker
  • Experience in developing business plans/proposals
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Understanding of material supply chain strategies preferred
  • General understanding of business financial concepts
  • Willingness to take ownership and risks
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with materials systems and ability to execute strategic planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Strong business acumen and technical knowledge across multiple business units preferred
