he Manager of the Software Product Management Team is a critical role that spans across our Commercial PC Systems.  The end to end Software Experience is a critical element to our customers' engagement with our commercial portfolio and a key area for strategic differentiation in our solutions.

 

The manager of this team will lead an organization that is responsible for driving insights to innovation, defining the product requirements, our business planning/model as well as developing strategies and providing guidance for our overall software portfolio.  They will drive projects that span the commercial portfolio as well as coordinate portfolios and strategies across the broader Personal Systems Organization.

 

This role will work closely with cross functional teams including PC Product Management, System Management, Software Engineering, Current Business Management, and the Markets with the intent to drive a large impact across the portfolio. The leader of the team will be accountable for the long-term success of the software portfolio and its contribution to broader Company and Business Unit goals in alignment with the growth and future strategy.  

 

Responsibilities

Responsible for the development of strategic software roadmap, as well as execution; including strategic and tactical operations and resource plans, goals, and priorities for the organization

Work tightly with SW Engineering to deliver on the roadmap, making the necessary trade-offs and timelines for delivery of the portfolio

Balance priorities across the PC portfolio roadmap, growth, and innovation projects

Engage with executive leaders within and across the business, including Engineering, Region Go-to-market, Supply Chain, Marketing and division heads to communicate plans, guide and influence strategic decision-making, and resolve escalations

Work with worldwide marketing to build go-to-market strategies for software and experiences product launches.

Work across partner ecosystem (internal and external) to find/develop strategic partnerships with product vendors.

Coordinate and lead strategies with broader software organizations across HP.

Consults with business leaders at senior levels to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., mitigating risk, approving significant programs etc.)

Education and Experience (minimum):

College degree in Marketing/Business/Technical or related field; MBA strongly preferred

10+ years of business experience in Technology Product Management highly desired.

Previous success in driving industry-leading product innovation

Strong track record of customer empathy and taking insights to innovation

Passion for products (hands on and strong technical knowledge)

Superior understanding product design and execution management experience
