They work with developers and project managers on designing, documenting, executing as well as reviewing test cases and test environments, increasing as much as possible test automation. You will be coordinating with agile development team stakeholders as well as business and customer-facing organizations (product management, support, maintenance, presales...) to identify priorities and best approaches and make sure you understand the customers' expectations in the most complete possible way.

Your efforts towards the automation would be used to bolster the continuous integration and to speed up the delivery process where reasonable and isolate problems early.

  • Provide leadership, motivation, and vision to the team.
  • Recruit, counsel, mentor, and guide an inclusive and diverse engineering team that achieves world-class standards. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment yet make final decisions.
  • Continue to build and develop a world-class quality engineering team.

With SUSE’s E&I Leadership team and Peers

  • Work closely with executives, product management, marketing, sales, and technical leaders and teams to build upon the company’s product and solution roadmap.
  • Ensure that the company’s products and solutions are secure, highly scalable, flexible and efficient — capable of supporting innovation, massive volume and exponential growth.
  • Collaborate in a cross-function team to ensure that all aspects of quality are actively discussed and addressed during the delivery process.
  • Coordinate and plan the team testing activities based on Product delivery planning and maintenance updates release requests.

About You

  • You are a hands-on & technical savvy people manager
  • Your ability to learn is key and your existing knowledge should help you become quickly operational.
  • Hence, experience with the following is valuable, but not necessary:
  • Close collaboration with Software Engineering teams - in agile setup preferably.
  • Hands on experience with Public Clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure or others) and/or OpenStack
  • Experience with troubleshooting complex issues in highly automated and distributed environments.
  • Experience contributing to open source projects or being an open source maintainer.
  • Knowledge of testing automation frameworks and tools.
  • At ease with Linux installation and operations on servers.
  • Strong communicator, fluent in written and spoken English.
