Principal Enterprise Architect

We are seeking an experienced leader who can bring a modern, practitioner mindset to Enterprise Architecture. This person will be recognized as an architecture subject matter expert, have deep experience in system design and engineering, and demonstrate exceptional business consulting skills.

 

You will join our CIO organization, a fast-paced, energetic, and high-performing team at the heart of Thomson Reuters. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape Enterprise Architecture at TR while collaborating with business stakeholders and other architecture teams while providing technical leadership and guidance of investment of technical capabilities at an enterprise level.

 

Our target candidate will demonstrate an ability to define a transformative vision for how enterprise architecture will partner with business technology teams to bring an enterprise view to everyday problems. Uniquely, we are targeting a senior leader that can pivot from vision development to tactical problem-solving when required.

 

About the Role:

In this opportunity as a Principal Enterprise Architect, you will:

Facilitate an architect community at Thomson Reuters by collaborating with architects to drive cohesion, standards, and architecture best practices at scale.

Provide strategic and technical architectural guidance to senior management, business technology project teams and functional organizations.

Guides teams in defining the future state of end-to-end architectures, platforms, products, tools, and solutions to advance capabilities in the business.

Actively engages the vendor community to understand the market, identify products that can support TR’s mission, conduct proof of concept evaluations, facilitate sourcing processes, and successfully integrate new technologies into the estate and support operations.

Participates in and contributes to thought leadership and strategic direction during team meetings and executive workshops.

Participate in our Technology Standards & Governance committee to influence and ensure the appropriate levels of governance are in place.

Prepares strategic updates and vision documents, briefings, and reports and demonstrates excellent communication skills and executive presence in presentations to TR executives, customers, and partners.

Contributes to and influences the technical strategies associated with a potential acquisition or divestiture.

About You 

You’re a fit for the role of a Principal Enterprise Architect if your background includes:  

 

A minimum of 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience implementing a myriad of architecture patterns such as SOA, microservices, cloud modernization, infrastructure and DevOps

Ability to produce clear, concise, relevant, and accurate recommendations based on information gathered from a variety of stakeholders and subject matter experts

Comfortable at all levels of an organization with the ability to communicate clearly.

A deep and fundamental technology heritage that will gain the respect of the top architecture technologists within TR and across the broader industry.

AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI certified or relevant industry experience.
