As a Backend Engineer, you will join a newly formed Purchase Engineering team. Your joint mission is to ensure our 45+ million customers enjoy the experience of buying the products they love the most. You will join a team of Backend engineers and collaborate closely with Product, Design and partner engineering teams to design, deliver and operate impactful product features and services at scale, and create a new Purchase experience at Zalando for our customers and their favorite products.
- The ideal candidate has professional experience with Java or Kotlin, including deep understanding of JVM.
- Curiosity to discover new technologies and software services and make significant contributions to new or existing systems.
- Experience in building, maintaining and improving large Web Applications and REST APIs.
- Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Principles and Design Patterns.
- Knowledge in automated deployment and monitoring through CI/CD pipeline (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar).
- Strong experience in understanding existing codebases and providing high quality feedback in pull requests.
