Christy Sheehy-Bensinger Bio
Dr. Christy Sheehy-Bensinger, the founder and CEO of C. Light Technologies, Inc. - a neurotech and AI company creating digital technologies and solutions to record and monitor eye motion. Their upcoming technology is a 10-second, non-invasive retinal video scan that uses eye tracking software and advanced analytics to report on fixational eye motion – eye motion that doctors can’t resolve at bedside. Dr. Sheehy’s postdoctoral research work focused on how to use fixational eye motion as an objective neurodegenerative biomarker to assess multiple sclerosis disease progression as well as concussion recovery. She obtained her Master’s in Engineering in Optics with a concentration in Business Administration from her alma mater University of Rochester. Post-grad, she was working as a Systems Test Engineer at Corning prior to moving onward to complete her Ph.D. in Vision Science at UC Berkeley. She started her company C. Light in 2014 to commercialize the retinal technology she developed during her dissertation. To date, Christy has raised more than $5 million in funding from venture capital, angel investment groups, and grants.
