Diana Nyaata Bio

Diana Moraa Nyaata comes from Nairobi Kenya has four years of working experience as an IT specialist and as an ICT instructor. contributing towards bridging the gender digital divide by mentoring women from the grassroots level as well as ICT training of both basic and advanced stages to help improve their livelihoods.
Diana took a break from studies in 2018, a third-year student to get money and pay her school fees and registered in 2020, working while studying BSc in Business Computing and Information Systems and achieving a First Class Honours degree from the University of Central Lancashire and recently NCC Education Online Learning Ambassador (Volunteer).

This nomination is going to help me have a wider outreach to the communities in Kenya and beyond sensitizing and encouraging women to take up STEM courses. It will help me in the acquisition of support and resources to accommodate as many women. importantly help me create a network that is going to help the beneficiaries directly.

My Ambition is to create sustainable ICT Centric ecosystem projects to empower and uplift women.

From October 2020 to October 2021 I have been able to successfully train 70 women focusing more on the technical skillset. According to the world bank covid, 19 exposed the digital gap in Africa, less than 39% of Africans have an internet connection and according to GSMA, there are 234M fewer women accessing mobile internet clearly showing the gap is very wide. Meaning women lose opportunities.

Getting this Nomination of IT graduate of the year and mentor of the year will enable me to empower uplift and close up the digital divide gap.
