Session: How Can Habits Improve your Life

Why are habits so important? How do you build good ones while removing bad ones?

I've learned a lot about building habits in the last 3 years and it all started when I broke my leg.
Literally.

📅 During my 4-month recovery, if I wanted to be able to walk again, I needed to go all-in: change my habits and show up every day, no excuses.
This showed me the importance of consistency and the big impact of small steps you do every day. It led to more significant results, and I managed to change my lifestyle along the way, which improved my life quality.

During the lockdown, I've lost 25 kgs, quit smoking, built my morning routine, and started Linkedin microblogging.

📢𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐲𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐬𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐨.

And if you want to start and change something today- start with making your bed every morning. ✔️

Key Takeaways

  • Why are habits important? Because habits are something we do often and regularly, sometimes without knowing that we are doing it and their quality is important as we spend 40% of our time in non-concious state.
  • Understand the Habit Formation loop (cue-routine-reward) to Own it and change it
  • The process of changing Habits starts with self-awareness, while consistency is the key to succeess
