Session: Engineering the Workflows That Power Modern Markets
Modern markets move faster than humans can think, yet the systems behind them rarely get talked about outside specialized engineering teams. In this session, I’ll walk through the workflows that keep electronic trading platforms reliable — from request flows and real-time validation to pricing checks, risk controls, and execution pipelines.
The talk breaks down how a simple “trade request” travels through a chain of distributed services, what can go wrong along the way, and the engineering patterns that keep high-volume systems resilient. No finance background is required; the focus is on system design, reliability, and the kind of behind-the-scenes engineering that quietly keeps global markets running every day.
Attendees will come away with a clearer understanding of how complex event-driven systems are built, how engineers debug issues under real-world constraints, and how small design decisions can shape the stability of large-scale platforms.
