Session: Future of Artificial Intelligence and Senses: Multisensory Messages in the Tech Industry

Many tools are used to prepare digital storytelling. In the future of technology, programmers may be able to create more complex forms of digital messages, combining more senses, including touch, smell, and taste – even if now it seems to be improbable. Nowadays, we – the users – mostly can receive infographics by seeing them. Additionally, we are also able to listen to data. But what about other senses? There are some people in the world who can receive one stimulus by more than one sense and this form of neurodivergency is called synesthesia. There are many types of synesthesia but e.g. many synesthetes can see music in colors. Some of them taste sounds. Others feel the smell of colors or emotions. Senses can get blended in every possible way. This is a very complex ability which is being implicated in the tech industry as digital synesthesia. This phenomenon is strongly related to information architecture and UX design as well-designed information is convincing for the recipient. The creators of websites, applications, advertisements and equipment try to integrate the senses in their messages for the benefit of the recipient. This is still a niche in the tech industry and the future of artificial intelligence.

Key Takeaways

  • There is no more enjoyable and effective UX design than one that integrates all possible senses.
  • Multisensory messages are the future of Artificial Intelligence.
  • Well-designed information is a success of creators.
  • Digital synesthesia is a niche in the tech industry.
  • People ignore design that ignores people.
