Session: Enabling new business models with IoT
The Internet of Things (IoT) market is rapidly growing, with multiple technology and equipment providers transforming themselves to position and win in this space. Effectively competing in this space, requires a customer-back view and a comprehensive understanding of problem you are trying to solve and what customers are looking for.
IoT is rapidly enabling a subscription-based “as a service” commercial model as customers’ demand shifts from the traditional purchased and maintained assets under fixed-fee models, to the emerging subscription model shifting responsibility and ownership toward providers, who provide, maintain, and operate assets as a service.
However, it is easier said than done. The adoption of subscription as-a-service models has been limited, as implementation and management are quite complex.
This session will explore emergence of new business models enabled by IoT and critical success factors to get it right.
