Session: Why I Left Corporate After 30 Years: Redefining Success, Power, and Purpose
After three decades in corporate technology, leading teams and driving large-scale transformation, Lori Lalonde made the decision to walk away. Not out of burnout or frustration, but out of clarity.
In this honest and reflective talk, Lori shares the turning points that changed how she defined leadership and why she chose to create Her Executive Ascent, a new model for women’s leadership rooted in purpose, autonomy, and influence. She explores what corporate life taught her about ambition, politics, and authenticity, and what it took to reclaim her voice, her energy, and her sense of impact.
This is not a story about leaving. It is a story about arriving at a more intentional way to lead and live.
Bio
Lori Lalonde is the Founder of Her Executive Ascent, a power accelerator for senior-level women in leadership who are determined to shape decisions, not just be part of them. She started her career in software development, moved into consulting, and went on to lead digital transformations across Microsoft’s partner ecosystem. From there, she built and led high-performing teams and managed large-scale portfolios, driving innovation and transformation at scale.
After nearly three decades in tech, including leadership roles at Microsoft and Manulife, Lori stepped out of corporate life to build the leadership experience she wished had existed earlier in her own career.
Lori’s mission is simple: to accelerate the rise of women leaders who are done waiting for permission.
