Reflecting on My Journey
As a Women in Tech Global Awards 2025 winner, what does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey and impact in tech?
Being recognized as a Women in Tech Global Awards 2025 winner is incredibly meaningful to me. It reflects my journey as an engineer committed to building scalable, high-quality solutions while advocating for inclusive and thoughtful engineering practices. This recognition affirms the impact of my work—not only in delivering reliable technology, but in mentoring others, raising engineering standards, and helping create environments where diverse technical talent can thrive. It motivates me to continue using my skills to solve meaningful problems and to support the next generation of women engineers.
Tech Industry's Most Rewarding Aspects
In your experience, what is the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry, and how has it influenced your career path?
The most rewarding aspect of working in tech is the ability to build systems at scale that meaningfully impact millions of people. As a principal software engineer at Microsoft, this has shaped my career toward designing resilient, secure platforms while influencing technical direction beyond my immediate team. This impact has also guided me to invest deeply in mentorship and technical leadership—raising engineering standards, fostering inclusive collaboration, and ensuring that the technology we build is both responsible and enduring.
My Tech Career Milestone
Could you share a defining moment or a key achievement in your tech career that has been particularly impactful or meaningful to you?
A defining and deeply meaningful achievement in my career has been leading major initiatives for Outlook Calendar at Microsoft, where my work has directly impacted hundreds of millions of Microsoft 365 users worldwide. Driving improvements in reliability, accessibility, and user engagement at this scale reshaped how I view engineering—from delivering features to building dependable, inclusive experiences that people rely on every day.
That responsibility has shaped my approach to engineering leadership: making thoughtful technical decisions, prioritizing quality and inclusivity, and mentoring others to think beyond individual features toward long-term impact. Knowing that my work helps power experiences at global scale continues to be one of the most motivating aspects of my career.
Empowering Women in Tech: Real Stories, Career Advice, and Tips
From your experience, what essential advice and practical tips would you offer to women aspiring to establish a successful career in tech?
My advice to women aspiring to build a successful career in tech is to focus on mastery, visibility, and support. Invest deeply in your technical fundamentals and don’t be afraid to tackle complex problems—confidence follows competence. Make your work visible by sharing ideas, documenting impact, and advocating for yourself, especially in rooms where decisions are made.
Equally important is building a strong support system. Seek mentors, ask for feedback early, and surround yourself with people who challenge and champion you. Finally, remember that growth is rarely linear—take risks, learn from setbacks, and trust that your voice and perspective are essential to the future of tech.
Who would you recommend to join the WomenTech Network, and why?
I would recommend the WomenTech Network to women at every stage of their careers, as well as to allies who want to drive meaningful change. For women early in their careers, the network offers guidance, visibility, and support that can be invaluable for navigating career growth and building confidence. For women in senior and leadership roles, it provides a powerful platform to give back—through mentorship, advocacy, and sharing hard-earned experience.
I would also strongly encourage men to join as allies. Meaningful progress in tech requires collective effort, and inclusive networks like WomenTech create the space for collaboration, understanding, and shared accountability to help build a more equitable industry.
