    Reflecting on My Journey

As a Women in Tech Global Awards 2025 winner, what does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey and impact in tech?

My journey in tech hasn’t been linear; it’s been messy, global, full of reinvention, and shaped by many leaps of faith. I started my career in R&D in Malaysia, became the first employee at a startup that grew to 150 engineers, built products across Asia, and eventually found my way to New York to co-found and scale companies.
This recognition feels like a moment to pause and honor all of the risks, the resilience, and the responsibility to open more doors for others. It reflects the impact I care about most: using technology to make work better for people and championing diverse founders who are building the future.

    Tech Industry's Most Rewarding Aspects

In your experience, what is the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry, and how has it influenced your career path?

For me, it’s the constant sense of possibility. Tech gives you permission to rethink how things should work.

That mindset has shaped every chapter of my career. Whether I’m building marketplaces, scaling global products, or advising companies on AI and operational transformation, the reward is the same: seeing an idea turn into something real that helps people. That never gets old.

    My Tech Career Milestone

Could you share a defining moment or a key achievement in your tech career that has been particularly impactful or meaningful to you?

A defining moment for me was co-building a global marketplace that now powers flexible work for some of the world’s largest companies. We started as a tiny team with a big belief that work should meet people where they are.

Seeing that idea come to life and watching millions of workers benefit from it was incredibly meaningful. It taught me that the right mix of vision, resilience, and execution can actually change an industry.

Empowering Women in Tech: Real Stories, Career Advice, and Tips

A few things I wish someone told me earlier:

    • Don’t wait to be “ready.” Step into roles that stretch your growth happens in motion.

    • Build your own board of mentors. Different people for different seasons of your career.

    • Learn to speak the language of product, finance, and operations. It gives you power and options.

    • Stay curious about new technologies, especially AI. It will shape every job; being fluent in it is a superpower.
