Reflecting on My Journey
As a Women in Tech Global Awards 2025 winner, what does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey and impact in tech?
Every person, and every woman, has a unique journey, some smoother, some with more challenges, some shaped by external obstacles, and some with a more linear path. Every story is valuable and important. Being recognised for the years of effort in this journey, the sweat, the sleepless nights, the sweet and difficult days, through such a prestigious award is truly meaningful. Especially at a time when women’s representation is sometimes treated as a publicity tool, being able to inspire others in the tech industry genuinely feels incredibly rewarding.
Tech Industry's Most Rewarding Aspects
In your experience, what is the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry, and how has it influenced your career path?
Technology today is no longer just a tool; it’s the innovation defining this new era. Its scale, impact, and influence are enormous. Being part of this field keeps your mind active and constantly challenged, like mental gymnastics. From cybersecurity to digital trust, data protection, GRC software, and ICT infrastructure, the field combines technical, strategic, and managerial dimensions. Tech quickly reveals those who are genuinely capable of handling high-stakes challenges. For me, as both a lawyer and an engineer, it’s thrilling. As a senior leader, it pushes me out of my comfort zone every day and fuels my drive to achieve.
My Tech Career Milestone
Could you share a defining moment or a key achievement in your tech career that has been particularly impactful or meaningful to you?
There have been many milestones, but a few stand out. Completing an MSc, transitioning to tech law with an LLM, and then pursuing a Data Analytics master’s at the University of Cambridge added diverse skills to my journey. Leading large teams across multiple countries at an early age was invaluable for people management. But true growth comes when one’s career evolves from "me" to "we." When you start seeing the bigger picture, you realise the limitless horizons. Leadership is about discovering your potential, and that’s when work becomes truly meaningful.
Empowering Women in Tech: Real Stories, Career Advice, and Tips
From your experience, what essential advice and practical tips would you offer to women aspiring to establish a successful career in tech?
Success in tech comes from a combination of perseverance, talent, and understanding human nature. Some skills are innate, like a hacker’s instincts or a coder’s intuitive grasp of programming languages, while others are developed through constant learning and adaptability. The key is discovering what you’re passionate about and where your strengths lie, then applying those consistently. When you find your niche, the playing field opens, and opportunities expand.
