As a Women in Tech Global Awards 2025 winner, what does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey and impact in tech?

This recognition means a great deal to me because it reflects something deeper than individual success. It represents the power of community, mentorship, and the countless people who opened doors, sponsored me, and trusted me with opportunities. My journey in tech has been about building spaces where women and underrepresented professionals feel seen, supported, and able to lead with their whole selves. Winning this award affirms that community building is real work that moves the industry forward, not something that sits on the margins of a career. It encourages me to keep using my platform in cybersecurity to make the path clearer and kinder for those who come next.

Tech Industry's Most Rewarding Aspects

In your experience, what is the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry, and how has it influenced your career path?

The most rewarding aspect of working in tech is the ability to solve meaningful problems that have a real impact on people, and to do it in a space where the landscape is constantly evolving. In cybersecurity, that means protecting identities, safeguarding data, and helping organizations build trust in the systems they rely on. The pace of change has pushed me to stay curious, keep learning, and embrace roles that combine technical depth with program leadership and community building. It has also shown me that impact is not only about what you ship, it is also about the culture you shape and the people you lift along the way.

My Tech Career Milestone

Could you share a defining moment or a key achievement in your tech career that has been particularly impactful or meaningful to you?

A defining moment for me was seeing women I had mentored step into their first cybersecurity roles or return to technical careers after a break, and then watching them thrive. Whether it was through mentoring programs, the Families ERG Returnity initiative, or community efforts like Women in Security and Privacy, those wins felt more meaningful than any title change. Another key milestone was contributing to work on detecting malicious cloud tenants, which combined my passion for identity security with large scale impact. Both experiences reinforced that my purpose sits at the intersection of technical problem solving and building pathways for others.

Empowering Women in Tech: Real Stories, Career Advice, and Tips

From your experience, what essential advice and practical tips would you offer to women aspiring to establish a successful career in tech?

First, give yourself permission to take up space. You do not need to be perfect to belong in the room. Start by building a strong foundation in your area of interest, then pair it with visible work: contribute to projects, share your learnings, and document your impact. Seek mentors and sponsors early, and do not be afraid to ask for guidance or opportunities. Community is a career accelerator, not a nice to have. Finally, protect your energy. Set boundaries, choose environments where you are respected, and remember that staying in tech is easier when you are not doing it alone.
