AI is increasingly being explored to analyse complex fertility data — from embryo images and development patterns to patient and treatment characteristics — and potentially support clinical decision-making.

But we should be careful about calling this “success prediction.” IVF outcomes depend on many biological and clinical factors, and no AI model can guarantee an outcome for an individual patient.

The bigger opportunity is using AI to help clinicians make sense of complex data, personalise treatment and identify patterns that may otherwise be missed.

And just as importantly, these advances should not remain limited to those who can afford expensive fertility care.

The real measure of innovation is not how sophisticated the algorithm is, but how many people can benefit from it.
