The App&API Security team is responsible for the continuous research and development of the Akamai Web Application Firewall. We serve thousands of large enterprise customers.

In this role you will:

leading the development of data science aspects in the product, working as part of the multidisciplinary research team. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of models and agents. Adding innovation and advanced models, and developing DS tools to provide insights and analysis of web security attacks.

Responsibilities:

• Leading and collaborating on end-to-end projects across the team and with engineering and product partners, from initial concept through to final deployment
• Developing working prototypes of statistical/machine learning-based algorithms, evaluating and comparing metrics based on real-world data sets
• Developing agentic systems to enhance detections and research paths
• Guiding engineering implementations of autonomous security agents
• Working closely with security researchers to combine subject matter expertise into the models
• Working to integrate security research learnings into the product
• Innovating in the web security research and data science space
• Providing DS expertise to the wider Akamai web security research group

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a BS.C degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience in Data Science
• Have knowledge in data science (pandas, PySpark, etc.), machine learning (sparkML, sklearn, PyTorch, etc)
• Have experience deploying and maintaining machine learning and generative AI systems in production, including agent-based frameworks and monitoring pipelines
• Be experienced in building evaluation pipelines to measure the performances and reliability of production models
• Be experience in working with cloud notebook environments
• Have good communication skills in English
