To balance technical and soft skills in remote assessments, include scenario-based questions that require candidates to demonstrate problem-solving (a technical skill) alongside communication and teamwork abilities (soft skills). For example, asking them to explain how they would handle a complex project issue both technically and interpersonally can provide insights into both skill sets.
