Session: Unleash The power of feminine leadership
There is a difference between how men are supposed to act and how women are expected to behave. Whether it is correct or not, our society labels certain qualities as masculine and others as feminine.I learned in my early career that if I wanted to get ahead in life, masculine qualities were my ticket to success. Work hard, be smart, and gain a powerful position.
Emulating those around me Working in a male-dominated industry, I followed the process that was laid out for me and did what my male counterparts did. I laughed at sexist jokes, drank scotch, smoked cigars, and became one of the guys.
Many traits that are labelled "feminine" in the workplace are viewed as weaknesses, but they ultimately provide a lot of wisdom and perspective that leads to greater profits. We must show up with both our "feminine" and "masculine" characteristics, with our wholeness, in order to truly feel fulfilled in our work and to find even greater financial success.
Characteristics that our society labels "feminine" continue to be discouraged in the workplace and are undervalued in leadership positions. The real ticket to success is using both masculine and feminine traits. When we show up with all of ourselves, we create powerful and profitable workplaces while being the change we want to see in the world. When we are so focused on logic, process, aggression, and pushing through at whatever cost, it is limiting our potential.
One day Tara decided she would no longer abandon her feminine traits, play small, and hide who she was to fit in. She had to take responsibility for what she was showing. The most important thing that she showed with all of herself was that her team and clients could feel safe to express their genuine fears and concerns, and together they would weather the storms and create success, knowing that they had built solid relationships based on vulnerability, trust, and mutual respect.
The world needs leaders who can show up with all their gifts and give others permission to express their authenticity, whether they are men or women.

Building multiple careers from the ground up, Tara Myshrall is an industry leader who started her career at Dell, assisting in building the channel as an AE and regional trainer, creating trust between the channel and direct reps. She then went on to be an AE at Information Builders, consistently walking the stage with the highest new name wins in the company, before moving into leadership as the Public Sector Manager of Canada with Information Builders, an international company that streamlines data management. Prior to joining Talend as a Regional Vice President, Tara rounded out her business acumen by leading the OEM business for North America at TIBCO.Focusing on business intelligence, predictive analytics, data quality, and big data, Tara served law enforcement agencies, healthcare, and municipalities throughout Canada. Tara’s driving motivation is to provide a service that enables her clients to make data-driven decisions to compel change and enhance results.
Tara also worked as a national account executive and regional trainer with both Dell Canada and Danier Leather, building her career from the ground up and becoming an influential and powerful force. Through dedication and hard work, Tara built a career around providing exceptional service to everyone she encounters. She continues to push the limits of sales possibility and is an integral leader of multiple teams dedicated to growth and precision.
She is also the proud mother of a 20-year-old son. Tara is an involved parent and the sole provider for her family. Motherhood is a huge part of Tara’s life, and she is continually both challenged and inspired by her son and strives to be a positive example for him.
Tara's mission is to inspire and equip her teams to achieve success and create solutions for their clients. She plays the field with her team and loves coming up with creative solutions that drive maximum results.
