I am Aysha Khan, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Treasure Data. My role involves overseeing the information technology and security aspects of the company. Prior to joining Treasure Data, I led IT & Security domains in several companies like HP, Bank of Montreal, CIBC Mellon, Symantec, and Oracle, in both the US and Canada.

Being in the technology industry enables me to contribute to shaping the future, improving efficiency, and making a meaningful difference. Furthermore, I find it fascinating to be at the intersection of technology and humanity. To describe myself in 6 words, I would say that I live intentionally, passionately, and fearlessly every day.

Why is the topic “Breaking Barriers: Women Forge a Bold Path to the C-Suite” important to you?

"The topic of "Breaking Barriers: Women Forge a Bold Path to the C-Suite" is very important to me for multiple reasons. Firstly, it addresses a crucial issue in the professional world - the underrepresentation of women in leadership positions, particularly in the C-Suite of organizations.

Secondly, it's important to note that the journey to the C-Suite for women often involves overcoming systemic challenges, biases, and stereotypes. However, we often overlook another crucial factor - personal accountability and a growth mindset. I aim for this presentation to inspire women to take charge of their development and present themselves in the best possible light, rather than leaving things to chance.

I strongly support gender equality and diversity in every organization. I believe that to unleash the full potential of an organization, it is essential to eliminate all kinds of barriers that prevent talented and capable individuals from reaching their goals, regardless of their gender. This aligns with my dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable workplace where everyone, irrespective of gender, has an equal chance to ascend to leadership positions based on their merit and ability.
