The Staff Data & Information architect will be responsible for building data and analytical solution with standard design & architecture patterns driving data pipeline, Kubernetes, and related products architectures on cloud. You will also work with cross functional teams in GEHC to make the data usable for functional users, Data Scientists and Applications to enable delivery of business values to customers.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure hands on experience designing and implementing solutions leveraging multiple services within a public cloud provider
  • Experience with Windows and Unix / Linux based programming
  • Experience using an automated configuration management or infrastructure as code system (Terraform, Chef, Ansible,  Cloudformation, etc.)
  • RESTful API Development/Usage
  • Experience in network security and related infrastructure technologies, cloud-based infrastructure, software defined networks
  • Knowledge of hybrid connectivity architectures including AWS Transit Gateway, Azure Global Reach, Express Route & Service Mesh Technologies
  • Hands on experience working with Kubernetes based applications and container workloads.
  • Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and related products and architectures with implementation, tuning, support and troubleshooting experience in both day-to-day and project activities
  • Working knowledge of deploying solutions to Cloud (AWS) including EKS and ECS
  • Drive design and architecture for Data Transformation & aggregations, design and development of a roadmap, design pattern, and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
  • Design and architect end to end solutions on AWS cloud.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability etc.
  • Resolve non-functional requirements such as performance, security, maintainability, scalability, monitoring, fault tolerance and cost.
  • Setup DevOps for AWS.
  • Drive Privacy & Security Controls for Sensitive data, PHI data classification and enable data access patterns based on data consumption for functional users, Data Scientists and Applications
  • Technical contact for stakeholders for Data transformation, access & data quality
  • Participates in the data domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction.
  • Gathers and analyzes data and develops architectural requirements at Product level.
  • Supports the development data and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.
  • Researches and evaluates emerging data technology, industry and market trends to assist in product development and/or operational support activities.
  • Coaches and mentors team members.
  • Effectively monitor and control costs in the organization

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent (STEM) with minimum 8+ years of experience
  • 5 -7 years’ experience explicitly in Data Analytics - Design, Architecture and the software development lifecycle.
  • Expertise in AWS compute, storage & Big data services – EMR, Spark, Redshift, S3, Glue, Step Functions, Lambda serverless, EKS, SageMaker, Dynamo DB etc.
  • Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and related products and architectures with implementation, tuning, support and troubleshooting experience in both day-to-day and project activities
  • Experience in one or more ETL and Data replication tool like Informatica and  HVR
  • Experience in Data warehousing, Data & Dimensional modeling and concepts.
  • Experience in one or more data visualization tool like Tableau, Spotfire etc.
  • Good understanding of enterprise source systems – ERP, CRM-etc.
  • Experience in Python or Core Java, Java Web Services development with REST APIs
  • Demonstrated ability to translate user needs and requirements into design alternatives
  • Effective team player with strong communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively / clearly at different levels in the organization 
  • Proven ability to create and maintain online and printed documentation
  • Demonstrated track record for the successful execution and accountability of assigned tasks

  • Expertise in one or more analytics software tools and packages e.g. Matlab, R, Python etc.

  • Ability to Analyze, design, and develop a software solution roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state of the business.

  • Knowledgeable of full range of solution catalog within a business unit and able to discuss overall solution at depth.

Technical Expertise:

  • Ability to consult customer on alignment of outcomes and desired technical solutions at an enterprise level
  • Ability to Analyze, design, and develop a software solution roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state of the business.
  • Working knowledge of configuration choices and related cost implications; Experience with complex solution configurations.
  • Knowledgeable of full range of solution catalog within a business unit and able to discuss overall solution at depth.
  • Experience sustaining operational stability through various life cycle phases (planning, implementation, steady state, de-commissioning); Ability to provision and budget via capital and operating.
  • Able to lead early stage customer interactions; Guide customers as they develop confidence and comfort with approaches, and integrate with their legacy tech investments.
