Session: Building new products: early stage and scale
Developing new products from scratch can be daunting and ambiguous. I would like to share my experience building a brand new product for WhatsApp and what I learned along the way, focusing on the following areas:
- How to manage ambiguity and pivot strategy in the very early stage of product development;
- How to adjust team management and communication when the products scale;
- How to define and position the PMM role in early-stage product development.
Bio
After 12 years in traditional advertising, marketing and brand management, I pivoted to Big Tech, where I have spent last 5 years as a Product Marketing Manager:
- At Microsoft (Seattle, US), I led Microsoft 365 Go-To-Market Adoption strategy and piloted new initiatives to scale Microsoft Teams adoption;
- At WhatsApp (London, UK) I have developed brand new products and features to help businesses and consumers interact right in WhatsApp chat.
