Mariana Carvalho Bio
Mariana Carvalho holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from ESPM-SP, a MBA in Competitive Intelligence from ESPM-Rio, and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Jackson State University, a HBCU (Historically Black College and Universities), in Jackson, Mississippi, USA. She currently works for Dell Technologies as a Solutions Engineer, in Boston, MA, with focus in IT Infrastructure, and Cloud Solutions.
Mariana is the Co-Founder of Brazilians in Tech (BiT: https://braziliansintech.com), the first Brazilian platform that aims to strengthen the community of Brazilian women in Technology, encourage and empower Brazilian women to pursue their dreams in STEM, and give visibility to women working and studying in their professional and academic lives.
Mariana has received more than 8 scholarships to different computing conferences in the USA, she has received the Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers Award 2021 from Hispanic Association of Corporate Responsibility; the ABI Pass It On Award 2018, from Anita Borg Institute, an One Young World scholarship in 2019 from Zurich Foundation, becoming a One Young World Ambassadr. Mariana is a volunteer at Anita Borg Institute (Grace Hopper Celebration), Latinity (the largest conference for Hispanic and Latina women in the Americas), and Richard Tapia Conference (the largest conference for minority groups in the U.S.A) as a Scholarship and Awards Reviewer.
Mariana is also part of Employee Resource Groups at Dell: Latino Connection and Women in Action. Mariana is actively working with local organizations in Massachusetts to mentor students in Technology, through technical workshops to girls and minorities studying STEM.
Mariana shares tech and career advise on her Instagram page @hellomariworld, and she mentors students in STEM that are looking to start their career in the field. Mariana loves Technology and everything it can do to positively impact the world.
