Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Senior Software Development Engineer in Test. Develop test cases based on feature design requirements and code changes; Work on an Agile team collaborating closely with Development; lead test efforts for major releases or within Agile sprints; Mentor team members and junior engineers; design and develop object oriented automation frameworks; Automate test cases using Python or similar object oriented scripting language; Bring industry best practices into the team and our projects; Provide strategic vision for automation and testing; Investigate and analyze root causes of technical issues and document found software defects; Verify and validate using white-box, black-box, and performance testing techniques; manage test lab environment and apply networking expertise; Produce testing time estimates for assigned features; and track and report testing status. Required Qualifications:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Telecommunications Systems Management, or Telecommunications Engineering.
Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Telecommunications Systems Management, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus five (5) of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Any prior academic or professional experience involving the following: white box, black box, functional, and performance testing methodologies; programming in C, C++, Java, or Python; object-oriented programming concepts; Linux; and debugging and troubleshooting.
Compensation:
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $140525 - $221400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
