Senior Software Engineer - Remote

The Security Technology Group develops products that protect our customers from online threats, including phishing, ransomware, viruses, and all of the types of malware, to shield from identity and financial theft.

Partner with the best

You will be developing using Golang/Python involving complex threat detection algorithms in an ultra-high traffic environment. You will be involved in creating developer productivity tools and services. You will work closely with Cloud Engineers, Product Engineers, Data science and DevOps to manage projects, provide creative solutions, and develop successful implementations.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Developing using Golang and Python for our Security Product tools
• Creating schemas, data models, migrations, and manage NoSQL databases (Cassandra and Redis)
• Architecting modular services using Agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or its equivalent and Software Development experience
• Demonstrate proficient experience with Golang
• Have experience in writing the HTTP Restful Web Services/Proxies and API's
• Have a good understanding of Linux performance tuning, internals and security
• Experience in NoSQL databases like Cassandra and Redis and data modeling
• Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or other cloud services integration

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $113,430 - $170,043/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
