The Role

Expert in creating comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the business
• Actively participate on design meetings, workshops in order to influence the data strategy for the business
• Mentor/coach colleagues on Data Modeling
• Ability to identify enhancement opportunities in an existing data model
• Ability to apply Physical Data Modeling skills in highly complex, cross-functional situations and positively impacts the organization
• Ability to interpret Conceptual Data Model into Logical and Physical Data models
• Deep understanding of more than one particular database management system employed
• Capable of architecting the logical framework for a business project
• Created conceptual and logical model that was translated into a physical model for a business project
• Experience in programming/scripting skills (e.g. SQL, Python, Java, etc.) to generate a physical data model for a business project
• Experience architecting conceptual, logical, and physical design of a production warehouse environment for a business project
• Managed the conceptual, logical and physical design of a production warehouse environment
• Developed and optimized the framework for ingestion, execution, and performance of the data model for a business project
• Managed and maintained the ingestion, execution, and performance of the data model for a business project
• Led, influenced, and designed the activities across the project team to ensure a logical data model met strategic business objectives
• Created a physical data model for a business project using the native database language of the database management system (DBMS). Created objects such as tables, columns, keys, data types, validation rules, database triggers, stored procedures, domains and access constraints


Who You Are

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Building and launching new data models that provide intuitive analytics for the analysts and customers

  • Be responsible for gathering requirements from the business team and translate to technical requirements.

  • Should be able to drive the projects and provide guidance wherever needed.

  • Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models

  • The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively.

  • MS SQL experience with data modelling and some scripting background

  • Experience in working with Microsoft Azure and strong knowledge about ADLS, Blob Storage, Data Factory, SQL Server and Warehouses. Experience in Cloud based EDW platforms (Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift, Big Query etc)

  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs

  • Proven working experience as a data modeler or a similar role

  • Technical expertise regarding designing the data models, database design and data analysis.

  • Prior experience involving in migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions

  • Good knowledge of metadata management, data modelling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others) required.

  • Experience in Data Vault

  • Experience gathering and analyzing system/business requirements and provide mapping documents for technical teams.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Hands on experience with SQL

  • Problem-solving attitude
