Position Summary:

As an Associate Platform Support Engineer with a focus on Microsoft technologies, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Microsoft-based platforms for our clients. You will work closely with our clients' teams to deliver exceptional support and ensure the smooth operation of their Microsoft environments. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth and learning in the field of Microsoft platform support.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Microsoft Platform Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and administer Microsoft-based systems, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365.

    • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Microsoft platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption for clients.

    • Patch Management: Manage and apply updates, patches, and security fixes to Microsoft systems to enhance performance and security.

    • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

    • Client Support: Provide technical support to clients, addressing inquiries, issues, and requests related to Microsoft platforms.

    • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and optimize Microsoft-based systems.

    • Security: Implement and maintain security best practices, including monitoring and mitigating security threats.

    • Performance Optimisation: Identify areas for performance improvement and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency of Microsoft systems.

    • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Stay current with Microsoft technologies and provide training and knowledge transfer to clients and team members.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise Applications/Services and Windows Operating Systems

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Compute and Network hardware

  • Knowledge of computer programming or coding

  • Proficient at troubleshooting and good technical skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of local and wide area networks

  • Knowledge of support desk software

  • Ability to analyse information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems

  • Good understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, devices, and software applications

  • Networking knowledge (e.g., OSI network layers, TCP/IP)

  • Knowledge of systems engineering software tools

  • Ability to work and collaborate with teams from several business areas/functions in facilitating support requests and maintenance responsibilities

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to multitask and work independently

  • Ability to utilise key systems and tools related to information technology

What will make you a good fit for the role?

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science or relevant

  • Relevant certification, e.g., MCP, A+, CCNA, etc

Required Experience:

  •  Working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting IT information systems

  • Proven experience in the administration and performance tuning of infrastructure hardware and -software

  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring systems and automation software, as well as Cloud

  • Demonstrated project management experience is advantageous
