About the Role

Account Manager role focuses on actively prospecting new B2B clients and managing the full sales cycle, from initial outreach to closing and relationship management. It is ideal for early-career professionals looking to develop sales and CRM skills through online and in-person visits, calls, emails, proposal support, and follow-ups, with training and growth opportunities within the sales team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and cultivate new and existing relationships in his/her territory, for the purpose of initiating and retaining subscriptions/Licenses to a variety of products and services offered by Springer Nature, in order to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
  • Prepare formal quotes and respond to inquiries from customers, agents, and third-party vendors on a timely fashion. Act as a liaison between customers and several departments of Springer, such as Marketing, Accounting, Helpdesk, Sales Support, Customer Service, etc. on a needed basis.
  • Monitor all account activity in his/her territory, including new accounts as well as renewal base for all electronic products.
  • Promote, set up and track customer trials.
  • Report and maintain ongoing sales pipeline in defined system/reporting procedures with up-to-date and accurate account information, including projections, on a weekly basis.
  • Help plan and implement sales and marketing strategic plans and projects. Be prepared for both top-down and bottom-up approaches for planning, implementation, and control.
  • Help build up local market intelligence and recommend relevant business reactions.
  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns through collaboration work with the marketing manager.
  • Create and deliver an annual marketing plan that encompasses all activity in his/her territory and ensure that it is delivered consistently and draws on all appropriate resources and channels. Keep up with all the products being offered by the company and communicate the know-how and strategy to both end-users and distributors.
  • Submit regular sales and business activity reports and travel/training plans to the line manager.
  • Participate in all key library conferences and tradeshows within the territory, on a regular basis.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor..

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of sales and negotiation techniques (active listening, persuasion, objection handling, closing, follow-up, detection of necessities).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn continuously.
  • Speaks and writes English
  • Availability for occasional travel

Desirable                   

  • 2+ years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably in publishing, information services, or technology sectors
  • Experience with STM publishing, academic content, or research intelligence solutions
  • Basic proficiency with CRM tools, Excel, and corporate email.
  • Knowledge of consultative sales methodologies (e.g., SPIN).
