Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?

Throughout my professional journey, I've undergone significant transformations – transitioning from an investment banker to a role in management consulting and eventually becoming a lawyer. Technology has consistently been my companion, playing a pivotal role in shaping my career. Particularly, as I collaborated with tech companies in legally designing their business models and expanding into new markets, I found myself captivated by the immense opportunities that technology and AI offer in addressing crucial challenges.

Navigating the intricate landscape of legal questions surrounding algorithms and code further fueled my fascination. I am grateful for the diverse professional experiences that have led me to the point where I now serve as the interface between business, law, and technology.

Being an active participant in the tech community is more than just a workplace for me; it's a passion. I find immense fulfillment in supporting AI entrepreneurs in Europe through my involvement with the European AI Forum. My goal is to elevate their concerns and needs, advocating for a stronger voice for Europe not only as a regulatory powerhouse but also as an innovation superpower. This commitment drives me to contribute to the dynamic intersection of business, law, and technology, where I believe the future of transformative advancements lies.

Why is the topic “Navigating the dynamic intersection of AI innovation and regulation” important to you?

For the past four years, I've actively engaged in digital and tech regulation, with a significant focus on contributing to the formulation of the European 'Artificial Intelligence Act.' I firmly believe that as a society, it's imperative to delineate how we harness this potent technology for the benefit of all. Simultaneously, I recognize the intricate nature of navigating regulatory landscapes, especially for entrepreneurs, particularly those in startups and SMEs. My commitment is fueled by a passion to support digital pioneers forging solutions that will reshape our world. I am dedicated to facilitating this transformation by translating the prerequisites for trustworthy AI and guiding them strategically and legally in crafting their AI business models.

Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?

Overall, the Women in Tech Global Conference aims to bring together a diverse audience to foster collaboration, provide mentorship and address the challenges faced by women and underrepresented groups in the tech sector. I recommend attendance to anyone who is passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. In my view, this initiative is especially beneficial for women, by providing them a platform to network, share experiences, gain insights into industry trends. Further, in particular individuals from underrepresented groups can benefit by connecting with like-minded professionals, gaining inspiration from successful role models, and accessing resources to overcome challenges they might face. Lastly, I strongly believe that change cannot be brought about alone. We need allies and advocates who support diversity and inclusion and I very much encouraged them to attend.
