Strong Female Voices - How to Make Yourself Heard: Women in Tech Berlin x WeTech at EY

In a powerful gathering that blended inspiration, authenticity, and connection, Women in Tech Berlin Chapter, in collaboration with EY’s WeTech network, held an unforgettable event on March 12, 2025, focused on the theme: “Strong Female Voices – How to Make Yourself Heard.” Held at EY’s Berlin office, the evening offered a dynamic space for women in technology to come together, find their voice, and amplify it.

From Stage to Soul: A Night of Presence and Power

The evening began with a heartfelt welcome by Amelie Keese, who introduced the audience to EY’s vibrant role in the tech space and the mission behind WeTech in Germany. This set the stage for keynote speaker Laura Kiehne, a Senior Business Development Manager at ESMT Berlin, actress, and voice coach, who took the room on a transformative journey with her talk: “Presence, Body & Voice – How to Make Yourself Heard.”

Laura’s keynote resonated on a deeply personal level. Drawing from her diverse background, she shared her journey of embracing her voice—literally and metaphorically—and equipped attendees with practical strategies to build confidence and presence in professional settings.

Real Talk from EY’s Tech Leaders

The highlight of the evening was the dynamic Panel Discussion titled “Strong Female Voices – How to Make Yourself Heard.” This engaging conversation brought together four inspiring leaders from EY:

These inspiring EY leaders shared their experiences, challenges, and perspectives on career growth in the tech industry. From navigating leadership roles to fostering inclusive work environments, each panelist offered a unique lens on what it means to thrive as a woman in tech today. Their stories resonated deeply with the audience, providing both inspiration and practical advice.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, offering the audience a chance to ask direct questions and engage with the panelists. This exchange created a dynamic and supportive dialogue, leaving everyone with practical takeaways, renewed confidence, and a deeper sense of connection.

It was a moment that underscored the true value of events like these—bringing people together not just to listen, but to learn, reflect, and uplift one another in their shared journeys through the tech world.

"Finding your voice is not just an internal journey; it must also be shaped by external experiences. I realized it’s not a one-time job but a continuous process influenced by my emotional and physical state. The session was not only enlightening but also interactive—you could feel the room’s energy as safe and empowering. Looking forward to continuing to create these spaces!" shared Paula Andrea Castro, WomenTech Network Chapter Leader

"I really enjoyed the event—Laura shared valuable tips for female professionals on developing executive presence, which was incredibly insightful. The other panelists also brought unique perspectives, sharing their personal journeys as women in tech. It was great to see how engaged the audience was, and the social networking session that followed allowed us to connect, exchange stories, and learn from each other."  shared Jackie Tu, WomenTech Network Volunteer and Senior Partnership Manager at Solaris SE

"It was definitely an event to remember. The session by Laura Kiehne was both grounding and energizing. Her words about being ‘not just loud but also noisy’ as a child and how she tried to shrink herself really resonated with me. Her journey to finding her voice is truly inspiring. Thank you, WomenTech and EY, for organizing such an empowering event. I connected with so many fellow #WomenInTech—here’s to many more!" shared Ankita Singh, WomenTech Network Volunteer and Senior Consultant at Deloitte Digital
