The Community Initiative of the Year (Non-Corporate) Award recognizes outstanding grassroots, non-profit, or volunteer-led programs that have made a meaningful impact on advancing women in technology. This free award celebrates community-driven initiatives—meetup groups, coding bootcamps, mentorship circles, advocacy campaigns, and educational programs—that operate independently of corporate sponsorship to create inclusive pathways for women into tech careers and leadership roles.

Nomination eligibility criteria:

A non-corporate, community-driven initiative (non-profit, volunteer-led group, meetup, or grassroots program) focused on advancing women in technology.
Demonstrated measurable impact on its community such as number of women reached, events hosted, skills taught, or career outcomes achieved.
Operates independently of corporate funding or sponsorship as its primary support structure, relying on community effort and volunteer engagement.
Shows commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability in its programs and activities that support women entering or advancing in tech.
