The Synopsys Information Security team is growing and further building our project management practices implementing security best practices, world class security operations, and data driven governance and risk.

The Sr. Staff Program Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and communications for top Information Security programs across cybersecurity engineering, governance, and operations. You will work closely with Information Security leadership team to plan, track, and drive results across the portfolio. This position will require building trust within our security and technology organizations across business units. The ideal candidate has managed complex situations, is highly driven with strong emotional intelligence, and is a true self-starter.

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage security projects and programs, including process improvement and technology
  • Develop and present program KPIs and program health checks and risks to leadership
  • Develop a deep understanding of projects within the program portfolio, manages assigned projects with a clear understanding of business and IT context, and develop an understanding of cross-program portfolio dependencies
  • Communicate findings from initiatives to management and the broader organization
  • Offers new solutions or direction and can encourage and motivate others to support new solution or direction 
  • Partner closely with other functions including IT, Product and Engineering
  • Work independently, with limited day-to-day guidance from senior management leadership
  • Use cross-functional knowledge and seek to understand issues, trends, and perspectives that may influence the business. Connect the dots for key stakeholders to drive increased alignment.
  • Effectively influence and collaborate to achieve continual progress on objectives while managing risks and changes
  • Lead, plan, execute and control an assigned portfolio of InfoSec projects, covering all security domains from risk and compliance to technology implementation to security operations
  • Ensures that project status reports are relevant, transparent, and add value
  • Work with InfoSec leaders to manage initiatives to address delivery/maturity pain points and challenges
  • May advise senior management on specialized technical or business issues
  • May coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead 
  • Represents the InfoSec organization as the principle contact on business unit and/or company-wide projects

 
 
Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience delivering Information Security and/or technology projects/program
    • preferred: software/SaaS company or similar environment
  • Experience with complex project management and managing concurrent initiatives including assessing, prioritizing, escalating, and mitigating changes and risks
  • Understanding of IT program and portfolio management practices
  • Expert-level knowledge of standards and practices for technology project and program lifecycle management activities and deliverables
  • Use of analytics for decision-making and measuring progress and performance
  • Driven to organize, establish, and improve processes, balancing speed, efficiency, and effectiveness with internal customer involvement, consensus, and satisfaction
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Entrepreneurial - you’re a self-starter who loves to own things end-to-end. 
  • Problem Solver - you've solved ambiguous problems by applying frameworks to get to the first principles, aligning resources on the goal, executing, learning, and adapting.
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of both internal and external customer business and work collaboratively to successfully deliver value in alignment with the firm’s cybersecurity strategy
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, PMP are preferred


The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $135,000-$203,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
