Senior Digital Implementation Applications Engineer

In this role you will be a key member of our fast-paced European EDA Applications Engineering Team. Providing technical support and innovative solutions to our Semiconductor and ASIC industry customers across the UK region.

The right candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and willing to learn, with strong people and communication skills and a passion for customer support and problem solving.  The candidate will partner with customers and Sales to identify business opportunities, develop effective technical solutions, and increase utilization and retention of products on current accounts.

As well as the customer support role you will have the ability to work with Synopsys’ R&D teams to enhance and develop solutions to the most challenging customer problems.

You will be working at Synopsys offices and regularly at Customer premises. Domestic and international travel are expected.

Key Qualifications

• BS/MS EE, CS, CE or related discipline
• Deep understanding of the RTL2GDS flows and methodologies
• Minimum of 2 years of Digital Design implementation experience (FE and/or BE)
• 5-10 years relevant experience in the semiconductor, ASIC or EDA industry
• Good customer facing and communication skills
• Good speaking and writing level in English

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of Synopsys EDA tools like IC Compiler II or Fusion Compiler or DC-NXT would be an advantage. However additional training will be provided where needed.
• Front-end digital implementation.  This includes RTL synthesis, STA
  
  • Experience with Design Compiler, Fusion Compiler, Primetime is a plus
• Digital place and route.  This includes floorplanning, clock tree synthesis and low power techniques
  
  • Proficiency in IC Compiler and/or Fusion Compiler is a plus
