Session: Digital Privacy and Security Challenges for the Workplace of the Future

How we understand work and the workplace today has drastically shifted from that of previous generations. Emerging technologies have influenced the status quo of work in a knowledge economy; the recent pandemic has also meant that many companies have extended their remote-work policies indefinitely.

As a result, employees find themselves face to face with increasing digital privacy and security challenges–namely, the rise in workplace surveillance under the guise of companies overseeing their staff’s productivity, as well as how flexible work solutions may disproportionately affect women.

In this session, Lauren will share insights on the current landscape impacting the future of work, through two recent and original studies conducted by ExpressVPN. She will bring to attention the extent to which employees are being surveilled by their companies, and how it impacts workers’ job satisfaction, stress levels, and relationships with their employers. She will also explore the potential of the metaverse as a virtual, immersive workplace, showcasing its key benefits and challenges, and its implications for employee privacy.

Lauren will finally provide tools to empower women to take control of their professional lives and authentically seize the right opportunities for you in this new world of work.
