Nidhi Cheekireddy Bio (LinkedIn)
I am a Senior Software Engineer and Project Lead. For over ten years, I've been building massive, event-driven backend systems for retail, telecom, agriculture, and enterprise data. My technical sweet spot is functional programming in Clojure, high-throughput streaming with Kafka, and cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.I started my career in Bengaluru writing Java and REST services for a telecom modernization effort. From there, I took on technical roles at Comcast on next-generation cable virtualization, then John Deere handling satellite imagery and master data at petabyte scale. Before my current role, I built point-of-sale and receiving platforms for Sam's Club. The goal has always been the same. Make transactional systems fast, deeply stable, and safe to change.
Right now, I lead engineering for Conflux, Walmart's next-generation pricing platform, driving point-of-sale checkouts for thousands of stores across the US, Canada, and Mexico. I spend my days on immutable data pipelines and sub-second Kafka streaming, with a cloud-to-edge model that keeps checkouts alive even when the network completely fails.
I have a Master of Science in Information Systems from Wilmington University and a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from JNTU. Beyond the code, I care a lot about engineering culture. I mentor the Clojure developers on my team through constant pair programming, code reviews, and a weekly "function of the week" deep dive.
