Savneet Kaur Chhatwal Bio

I am a Jan 2021 Intake student from India at Northeastern University, Toronto pursuing my Master's in Project Management.
My Introduction
Education: Since my life has essentially experienced the rise of the modern computing industry, I can feel that tremendous developments in this field are still to come. It was natural for me to select BE in Computer Science Engineering as my university major, and now that I have completed my undergraduate studies, my core goal is to continue my training in a more competitive, prestigious, and international setting. Communicating technical aspects to a non-technical audience is one of my major strengths.

Work Experience: I joined an internship in the winter of 2019 for 6 months at Student Connects, a professional services firm that offers research and educational services across institutions in India. Along with this I have been taking freelancing projects to grow and gain idea of the competitive and professional environment. After completion of my degree, I co-founded a startup named ‘Lilac Creatives’ catering to all the services required for creating or expanding a brand's virtual presence and have been working with it for the past 1 years.

Extracurricular activities and Hobbies: I’ve been a part of various national and international IEEE conferences across the globe. I was the Chair of IEEE Computer Society at my college for 2018-2020 where I conducted various events and workshops under the banner of IEEE. I love to travel and explore various cultures.

Achievements: I am one of the recipients of the prestigious Richard E. Merwin scholarship by the IEEE Computer Society. I was also the Team leader of the Winning team of Smart India Hackathon 2018 at Delhi nodal center. Later, I also got the opportunity to represent my country at the India-Singapore Hackathon 2019. I have also volunteered for various conferences and organised 25+ regional and 7+ national and international events.

Social Work: I am an active volunteer for 'Unnayan Foundation', Nagpur, India and volunteered for 20+ initiatives. Along with this, I have 6+ years of experience in volunteering for NGO'S and giving back to the society.
