Akamai Workforce Protector- SEB team!

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to develop complex browser security capabilities and own cloud-native microservices that protect millions of enterprise workspaces globally. You will join a growing, values-driven team, contribute to our design forum, and solve hard engineering challenges.

In this role you will be:

• Designing and developing complicated security capabilities to defend against evolving web-based threats, shadow AI, and data leakage in the browser.
• Taking ownership of a mission-critical, cloud-native microservice architecture that safeguards millions of workspaces globally, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Developing Akamai's browser extension, DLP and policy engines, and IdP/SIEM integrations.
• Leveraging AI frameworks and tools to build AI-powered security capabilities.
• Working across the stack, from our browser extension and shared engines to our backend services and React-based management console.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Product Management, and Security Experts, to rapidly release secure, scalable code multiple times per day.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have at least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, an equivalent technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Be highly proficient in at least one of the following: Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript or Rust.
• Have hands-on experience in data modeling and relational databases.
• Have experience building complex data pipelines and high-throughput architectures, specifically utilizing event-streaming technologies like Kafka.
• Demonstrate experience developing cloud-native microservices using modern cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Have experience building security products or client-side software running on end-user devices.
